RAY SPRINKLE

CEO/PRESIDENT

Ray was hired by URM in 2003 as the VP of Procurement, Retail Services and Profit Centers.  In March of 2013, he was promoted to President/CEO.  Ray graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degrees in Business, Marketing and Animal Science Industry from Kansas State University.  His education, along with his vast experience has allowed him to aid in the expansion of URM and our member-owners.  Ray has a long career in the grocery business, working for companies such as Dillon’s (Kroger), Super Stores Industries, SAV-U-FOODS, and Fleming.

Ray is active in the community and industry, serving on the Boards of 2nd Harvest, Feeding Washington, National Grocers Association, Retailer Owned Food Distributors and past chair of Washington Food Industry.

Ray’s goal for URM is not necessarily to be the biggest, but to be the best.  We will continue to drive for lower cost of goods and services, while expanding and supporting the infrastructure to ensure the success of the Independent Grocer.

 

CHAD FARRAR

CFO/TREASURER

Chad Farrar joined the URM Stores team as CFO/Secretary/Treasurer in April 2023. Chad has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, with a major in Accounting from the University of Idaho’s School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Idaho.

Prior to joining URM Stores, Chad served as the VP of Finance and General Manager of a telecom technology company Raycap. Chad helped transform Raycap into the global leading provider of electrical power protection products during that time. Prior to that Chad worked in finance and management positions with Fortune 500 companies including Albertson’s and Washington Group International, as well as working in the mining and banking industries.

Chad is committed to helping URM grow and succeed by providing exceptional service, support, and value to URM's Member-Owners and customers.

 

ELIZABETH BARTCH

VP OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Elle was appointed to the role of Vice President of Human Resources at URM Stores, Inc, in 2019. In this role, Elle leads the overall Human Resources strategy including talent acquisition, organizational design, employee development, Total Rewards program strategy, employee relations, and Human Resource operations.

Before stepping into her current role, she led HR teams in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. Prior to that, she worked in various HR and Safety roles in the media and commercial real estate industries. As an alumnus from Eastern Washington University, and with over 20 years of service in the Air National Guard, she brings a commitment to excellence. Drawing on her diverse expertise, Elle has successfully spearheaded numerous critical HR transformation projects, shaping innovative work methodologies to fortify URM’s position as the “Best-In-Class” distributor for our customers.

 

MIKE MCSHANE

VP OF PROCUREMENT & PROFIT CENTERS

Mike McShane joined URM in 2018 as Vice President of Procurement, and in April of 2020, took on the challenge of three more divisions with his title of Vice President of Procurement & Profit Centers.  He has over 28 years of experience in the grocery business, both in wholesale and retail environments.  Mike has held such positions as Senior Manager of Supply Chain & Demand Planning, Director of Center Store Merchandising, Senior Manager of Center Store Procurement, Store Director, and Grocery Category Manager.  He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Hawaii in 1990. 

Mike looks forward to continuing URM's success by collaborating with our Member-Owners, supply partners, as well as the internal URM team, to drive sales and lower cost of goods for our Member-Owners and Profit Centers.

 

ROGER OLHAUSER

VP OF OPERATIONS

Roger brings over 30 years of experience and accomplishments as a manager and leader in the wholesale distribution business. His previous experience includes General Manager of Logistics for SUPERVALU Distribution Sites located in Bismarck, North Dakota, Minneapolis, MN, and Billings, MT. His most recent position was a General Manager position for Americold, managing a 3rd party Kroger Perishable facility, located in Denver Colorado.

Roger is excited to support URM’s overall vision of providing best-in-class service levels and continuing to drive efficiencies, which will assist our Member-Owner customers to effectively compete in their markets and grow their businesses.

 

JON ROMAN

VP MEMBER SALES & MARKET DEVELOPMENT

In 2021 Jon Roman accepted the position of Vice President of Member Sales & Market Development. Jon spent the previous 29 years at URM starting as a General Merchandise/Candy Specialist, then moving to Procurement and becoming the Manager of Grocery/Frozen Procurement. Before his Vice President promotion, he had been the Director of Retail Sales & Services. Jon has played a major role in URM’s expansion on the westside of the state and understands the challenges the Independent Grocer faces. He is truly an advocate for our Member-Owners.

Jon looks forward to helping URM continue to expand into new markets and continuing to help member-owners grow and succeed.

 

RICH STUBER

VP OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Rich Stuber came to URM with over 25 years of information technology experience.  He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1995 and then began a long career path with Computer Task Group, MCI, Coldwater Creek and lastly Tommy Bahama.  He was hired as URM’s V.P. of Information Technology in 2014.  Rich received his AA degree from Chapman University in Colorado Springs, CO and continued his education in Information Systems Management at Colorado Technical University.

Overall, his vision is to transform IT into an efficient, high performing IT Organization that is focused on service excellence. Rich plans to implement an immersive strategic approach for IT - one where people, process, and technology work seamlessly together to drive operational efficiencies and customer value. His focus will be on improving IT service delivery both internally and for the range of company partners, ensuring a greater level of profitability and success.

 

MIKE WINGER

VP OF STORE DEVELOPMENT

Mike was hired at URM as a Store Development Coordinator in 1993.  He became the designated real estate broker for URM’s wholly-owned real estate subsidiary (Premier Brokerage Company) in 1999.  He was promoted to V.P. of Store Development in 2003.  He graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1990.  He earned his Masters of Business Administration from Gonzaga in 1991. Mike also serves on the Advisory Board for Gonzaga's School of Business Administration.

Mike’s goal is to help member-owners with strategic planning for business development, business succession planning and continuing to provide members with the support they need to grow their business.
